Match Report Press Report

Wykeham 4 Lost to S/Ton University 2 in a close match.

With the away team having higher Gradings in 3 of the strings, Home advantage looked to be needed to take the win. The stats turned out to be correct, with a fine Away win.

On paper, the number 1 string should have been the closest, with only 41 ranking points separating the two players before the match. The Away player, Oli Costain, did well therefore to secure the win.

It was the number 4 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 52 Points ! Victory finally going to the Away Player, Alex Plimmer.

Player of the tie was the Home No. 5 string, Alfie Lawes, gaining 70 Ranking Points from the match.

Player of the match must be the Away number 2 string, Jack Lawrence, who over-turned a 951 ranking points disadvantage to record a great win.
